The average reward from a chewed bones funeral pyre is worth 230,657. ![]() The following drop rates are provided by Jagex, unless otherwise specified. Burning Chewed bones on a pyre ship constructed with magic logs is a requirement for the Kandarin Elite Diary. The Bonecrusher doesn't automatically crush chewed bone drops. Burning 2 chewed bones consecutively provides a bonus for burying twice as many bones as burning one chewed bone. The player will receive a message saying, "You gain extra prayer experience as the ancestral barbarian spirits watch over you." This bonus accumulates and is not lost upon death. Note that using higher level logs does not increase chances of receiving a dragon full helm.īurning chewed bones via a pyre ship provides an experience bonus (300%) to the next few bones you bury, the amount varying by logs burnt. Players may kill mithril dragons in the hopes of obtaining a dragon full helmet drop if unsuccessful, they can take any gained chewed bones to be burned in a pyre ship for another chance at gaining a dragon full helmet. The reward may be a dragon full helmet, various potions, runes or projectile ammunition. When these bones are put on a pyre ship and burnt (requires a tinderbox, axe and any type of log, blisterwood and pyre logs do not work), they will summon a Barbarian spirit, who may thank the player for putting his soul to rest with an item. No other monsters in the Ancient Cavern will drop chewed bones, and looting the skeletons won't give chewed bones either (only mangled bones). The type and level of the key is dependant on which shade remains the player has burnt, with higher level shades leaving higher level keys.Chewed bones are obtained exclusively as a drop from mithril dragons in the Ancient Cavern at a rate of 3/128. The player will see an animation of the shade's spirit floating up, away from the pyre, and then either a key or a stack of coins will appear on the pedestal nearby. If the player has a tinderbox in their inventory they may then light the pyre and, by doing so, release the spirit of the shade. Once a player has obtained the Mahogany pyre logs, they may use them, along with a set of shade remains (Loar, Phrin or Riyl), upon one of the numerous funeral pyres located to the south-west of Mort'ton's centre. These logs will then become Mahogany pyre logs and the player is granted 14 Firemaking experience. Once the sacred oil has been obtained players will need to use three doses of it upon some mahogany logs. This converts the ordinary olive oil into sacred oil. Once the temple is rebuilt, players may light the altar in the centre of the temple and use their olive oil on the fire. To create the oil, players need to purchase normal olive oil from Razmire Keelgan's store in Mort'ton and then help to restore the temple that lies to the north of the town. Sacred oil may be made during the Shades of Mort'ton minigame or the Shades of Mort'ton quest. To make Mahogany pyre logs, players must first obtain some sacred olive oil. They require level 55 Firemaking to light and grant 210 Firemaking experience when used to cremate a shade. To cremate shade remains, you will need to use Sacred oil on logs to create Pyre logs. Mort'ton Shade Burning is a multi-skill based minigame where you need to burn shade remains to obtain rewards. Mahogany pyre logs may be used during the Shades of Mort'ton minigame to cremate the remains of Loar, Phrin, and Riyl shades. Note that completion of In Pyre Need and 51 Slayer are necessary to complete this activity. ![]()
